TikTok download not working? See what to do

Help guide updated March 17, 2026

If your download failed, it doesn't always mean the site is down. In this type of tool, the most common problems are usually linked to the link itself, the state of the video or temporary infrastructure limits.

1. Confirm that the link is really from TikTok

Copy the link directly from the TikTok share button. Manually pasted links, truncated links, or changed URLs may fail to process. Ideally, use public formats such as `tiktok.com`, `vm.tiktok.com` or `vt.tiktok.com` copied from the app.

2. Check if the video is still published

Videos that are private, deleted, region limited, or taken down normally cannot be processed. If the content does not open normally in the browser or app, the tool may also fail.

3. Try again if the server is overloaded

Tools of this type may depend on APIs and third-party services. When one of these services becomes unavailable, the order may experience a temporary error. Wait a few seconds and try again.

4. On iPhone, the download may open in a new tab

In some mobile browsers, the video or audio may open first in the browser player. If this happens, use the browser's own option to save the file or open the sharing menu and save it on the device.

5. Audio MP3 and video may have different behaviors

In certain cases the video is available, but audio extraction takes longer or fails due to the original source. If the MP3 doesn't load, test the video first and then try the audio again.

6. Some errors depend on the type of content or browser

If the post is a set of slides or photos, the download behavior may be different from that of a traditional video. Likewise, in Safari, Chrome mobile and some desktop browsers the file may first open in another tab before it is ready to save.

Practical tip: If the error recurs, close the tab, recopy the original TikTok link and try again with a different public video. This helps separate link error from temporary service error.
